HEAR FROM OUR CUSTOMERS
“Given that environmental regulations regarding antifouling agents are expected to become even stricter in the future, we have adopted “AQUATERRAS 1100,” a hull coating that contains absolutely no antifouling agents, as part of our efforts to address future regulatory risks. In addition to promoting environmental sustainability, we anticipate that this will help maintain hull performance through improved antifouling capabilities and lead to fuel savings.”

PROJECT DETAILS
In 2024, the “AQUATERRAS 1000” was installed on the vessel. In recognition of its superior anti-fouling performance and its contribution to improving the vessel’s operational efficiency, the “AQUATERRAS 1100” was selected for the 2026 dry-dock maintenance.
THE CHALLENGES
The vessel’s docking work was originally scheduled to take place at a Chinese shipyard; however, the previous “AQUATERRAS” product did not comply with China’s VOC regulations, making it impossible to apply the coating at a shipyard within China.
To address this issue, we developed a new product, “AQUATERRAS 1100,” which complies with China’s VOC regulations, and successfully secured its adoption for this vessel.
THE RESULTS
In addition to the excellent environmental performance of “AQUATERRAS 1100,” which contains no anti-fouling agents, our customers also have high expectations for its superior anti-fouling performance and fuel-saving benefits. We will use this adoption as an opportunity to further strengthen our relationship of trust with our customers.
